Ethnic Groups in Africa:
Arab - An ethnic group mostly found in areas north of the Sahara. An "Arab: used to refer to someone who was from Arabia. They lived near the Northwestern Peninsula. They are predominately Islam. Ashanti - An ethnic group that mostly lives in Ghana. They are mostly Christian, with some traditional beliefs. Some are Islamic. Their language is Twii. They created the confederation of Ashanti, which was taking down by the British. Bantu - An ethnic group and a language of central and South Africa. Most sub-Saharan Africans are Bantu. They are Islam, Christian, or have traditional beliefs. Nearly 400 ethnic groups go back to Bantu. They have no main religion. They were put into slave trade. They are the largest ethnic group. Swahili - An ethnic group and language that developed from Bantu. They are found in East African countries like Kenya and Tanzania. Swahili people mainly practice Islam. |
